Observation and Short Stay Analysis

Based on client interests, we are now offering a prepackaged dataset to assist in the analysis of observation service utilization and the occurrence of 1 and 2 day inpatient stays among acute care hospitals. Data includes the number of claims for Medicare outpatient observation, inpatient cases originating in the emergency room and the most common DRGs with short stay cases by facility (excluding transfers, patients leaving against medical advice and deaths).

This file is readily available and can be provided in a variety of formats to meet your specific needs. Data is available for the most current, as well as historical periods. While this file has been designed to meet most clients' needs, additional fields can also be added through our custom reporting services.
