Innovative new hospital profiles now free on the Internet
LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 26, 2005 – American Hospital Directory’s free
hospital profiles have been enhanced and expanded to include the most
up-to-date information available on the Web. Using innovative analytical
techniques and evidence-based data sources AHD has created comprehensive
snapshots of over 6,000 hospitals. The new data are timely, verifiable,
and fully documented on their website at www.ahd.com.
AHD.com’s free hospital profile now includes hospital names, addresses,
telephone numbers, and websites that are based on the company’s own
proprietary data model. The data are continually updated from direct
hospital communications, websites, news items, and other sources.
Changes and updates are made online as soon as they are received and
verified. This “real time” aspect makes AHD’s database the most
up-to-date and reliable in the industry.
The enhanced profile also includes a list of key clinical services for a
hospital. This list is based on a hospital’s actual billing data rather
than on survey information or other less reliable sources. As with all
information on the profile, complete definitions and methodologies are
documented for the user.

status is licensed directly from the Joint Commission and updated

The profile also continues to report useful information from federal
data sources. Medicare inpatient utilization statistics by medical
service and outpatient utilization statistics by APC are provided as
well as Medicare inpatient origin by ZIP code. Key operating statistics
and financial data are also included from a hospital’s most recent costs
report. These include beds and patient days by unit, total revenue,
total discharges, and other metrics.
In addition to the free profile American Hospital Directory also
provides more detailed information through an annual subscription and
custom datasets for professional clients.
